If Republicans were ACTUALLY pro-life....
...they would want to protect people (including women) from harm.
...they would not want women to get raped.
...they would not want women to get punished for being raped.
...they would want women who have been raped to have someone to talk to, who will help them survive this terrible experience.
...they would make sure every woman, particularly every pregnant woman, had access to medical care.
...they would make sure every baby born here had access to medical care.
...they would make sure every child in the country is fed, and fed healthily.
...they would not cut food stamps.
...they would not cut welfare.
...they would take care of the poor.
...they would not want women bleeding to death in back alleys, which, by the way, means the babies they're so interested in "protecting" go down with the ship.
...they would HELP single mothers who opted not to have abortions instead of passing judgment on them and blaming them for all the ills of society.
...they would make adoption less of a giant clusterfuck.
...they would not want the maternal mortality rate to match that of third world countries.
...they would not want to tell people lies that put their very lives at risk.
...they would want people to be educated about sex.
...they'd WANT people (including women) to PLAN their futures so that the state doesn't have to do it for them when they go, "Oops, I did it again," and bring a child they can't afford into the world, thus creating the very burden on the state that Republicans claim to be against.
The REAL Republican mindset is, to quote George Carlin, "If you're pre-born, you're fine. If you're pre-school, you're fucked!"
It's okay to be a fiscal conservative. It really is, I promise! It's NOT okay to claim to be for "life" and for small government when you want the government to be so small it fits in every woman's vagina. On the bright side, Republicans are digging their own graves with this mess. How many people voted for Obama, who violated PLENTY of their own political beliefs, JUST based on Republican hatred of women?
(Hint: It's a LOT.)
By the way, Ayn Rand, whom they're such a big fan of said, very famously, "Pro-choice IS pro-life."
Those of you who do genuinely care about fetuses and do think they have the right to life and do help single moms and their children and he poor (most of you will be nuns), for the love of all the universe, DON'T LET THESE DIPSHIT, NITWIT, HYPOCRITES SPEAK FOR YOU!
(Jesus would not have been a Republican.) Pin It
